Tom Coffey marked three small burial mounds on a 6-inch map in 1951, yet a 1997 inspection found no remains at that exact spot. The markers likely point to lost earthworks rather than a surveying error, leaving the true mounds hidden somewhere in the undulating pasture. They may still breathe beneath grass and farm traffic, waiting for a shoe or spade to reveal the shape Coffey saw.

On undulating ground in pasture, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). Listed as ‘Burial mound(s)’ in the RMP (1996). Three ‘small burial mounds’ were indicated on a 6-inch map by Tom Coffey (SMR file) at IG 12049, 19512. On inspection in 1997 no remains were visible at that location.
