Shaw’s Fort rises in Grange OF Ballywalter as a medieval motte, still scheduled and marked at the centre of its recorded site. Earth and memory have kept its shape while kingdoms changed names. A hand may have felt its slope at dusk, imagining the guard who watched the coast from above. The fort does not need a legend to be believable; it stands as the legend once stood, waiting to be remembered.
