What is recorded here

A hundred metres south west of Lady House Farm, a Norman earthwork still stands as a scheduled monument. Built during the 11th or 12th century, the substantial mound marked baronial control in the Welsh Marches before stone castles took over. Its builder remains unnamed, but the shape of the ground preserves the sudden violence and administrative reach of the conquest.
