Urishay Castle Farm stands beside a Norman motte built during the eleventh or twelfth century. The earthwork still carries the shape of a defensive castle, while nearby chapel and garden remains show that the place continued to attract life long after martial danger faded. That continuity makes the site more interesting than a abandoned ruin. People kept returning, adapting the same ground for worship, home and memory.
