Kemp's Castle at Morton is an unassigned earthwork in Dumfries and Galloway, meaning its shape survived but its date and purpose did not. The land may have hidden a fortress, a boundary marker or a forgotten settlement, yet no human name or date remains attached to it. What is left is a mound of soil and shadow, waiting for someone to ask what it buried.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Morton Castle, Kemp's Castle as Earthwork (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Built in the late 14th or early 15th century, Morton Castle (also known as Kemp's Castle) was constructed by the Maxwell family, a powerful Scottish noble clan. It is remembered for its strategic role in the border conflicts between England and Scotland and as a symbol of the Maxwells' influence in the region.
