Morlais Castle Quarries (East) cut into the Merthyr Tydfil landscape during the Post Medieval period, joining other local stones in building the region. The east face still holds the shape of that demand, a bruised line where human hunger met living rock. Whether men worked there in rain or fever is no longer certain, but the angle of the cut preserves their effort. The quarry does not need a legend to be strange; it is a wound that became a tool.
