Monica McWilliams

Monica McWilliams was born in Ballymoney, County Antrim, on 28 April 1954, the quiet starting point for a life that would reshape Northern Irish peace. She grew up in Kilrea, learned at Loreto College and Queen's University Belfast, then carried those lessons into rooms where women were rarely heard. Her work with Pearl Sagar and the Northern Ireland Women's Coalition helped place human rights at the centre of the Good Friday Agreement, proving that peace must include everyone or it remains incomplete.
