Situated on a N-S ridge, on the S slope of a sharply defined hill. The ground slopes away from the site to the E and W but rises slightly to the S. Rectangular area (dims c. 38m N-S, c. 43m E-W) defined by a low bank (Wth c. 3.5m; int. H c. 0.4m, ext. H c. 1m) and external fosse (Wth c. 4m; D 1.5m) at S, W and N.
