Overview

Moat — Craggycorradan East, Clare, appears as ‘Moat’ on the 1842 and 1920 maps. It is a subcircular bowl-barrow measuring base 18.3m north to south; 12.6m east to west; diameter at top 3.3-3.6m; H over fosse 2.3-2.45m. It stands on top of a prominent hillock in undulating pastureland with wide views all around.
