Minard Castle and Bridge occupy the same narrow place in Argyll and Bute, linking a old stronghold area to the living road above it. The bridge is recorded as an 18th century road bridge, so it belongs to the age when private power and public movement were being forced into one another. A castle suggests defence, a bridge suggests passage, and together they make the area feel like a threshold where permission, memory and traffic still compete.
