Millstone Edge is a Carboniferous limestone cliff formation, approximately 315 to 359 million years old, formed through the accumulation of marine sediments in a shallow tropical sea. It is notable for its historical use as a source of millstones and for its role in the local geology and industrial heritage of the Sheffield area.
