What is recorded here

Tower Tye marks the twenty-ninth milecastle segment in Northumberland, a small military checkpoint along a long border line. It is an archaeological scar rather than a standing monument, visible only through survey and memory. The name suggests a tower once rose there, yet no tower remains to point at the sky.
Milecastle 29 (Tower Tye) is shown as a archaeological place on the public map of Northumberland. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
