Brunicardi (1914, 193) records the finding of midden material in the sandhills between Buncrana and Fahan. Flint flakes, hammer stones, fragments of pottery and part of a saddle quern were found. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.'
