What is recorded here
Situated immediately on the shoreline. Local amateur archaeologists Tommy Gallagher and Eddie Harkin showed me where huge quantities of shell etc. were uncovered during excavations many years ago. Adjacent to this is a house and garden. The garden is small and dome-shaped. Messrs. Gallagher and Harkin believe that, given its profile and proximity to the earlier find, there may be midden material beneath the present ground level.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
