This blue commemorative plaque records: In the summer of 1831 Michael Faraday 1791-1867 stayed at 3 Prior's Cottages on this site. Later that year he announced his discovery of electromagnetic induction to the Royal Society London Recorded plaque organisation: Hastings Borough Council.
Michael Faraday was a pioneering scientist who made groundbreaking discoveries in electromagnetism, including the principle of electromagnetic induction, which is fundamental to the operation of electric generators and transformers. His work laid the foundation for modern electrical technology.
