Mettingham Castle College still keeps its castle name although no castle wall remains to prove it. The lost building may have stood tall, taught children and fallen away before anyone thought to draw it. Rowan and I walked the flat field at dusk, looking for a corner stone or a line of bricks. The earth gave nothing back, but the name still points at a place where human hands shaped stone and time erased the shape again.
Mettingham Castle College is shown as a ruins on the public map of East Suffolk. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
