Methven Castle is a 17th-century house east of Methven, built in 1664 by John Mylne for Patrick Smythe of Braco. Margaret Tudor lived there after her third marriage and died within its walls in 1541. The square block still stands with corner towers and crow-stepped gables, though later wings have vanished.
