This blue commemorative plaque records: Site of built 1807 Methodist Chapel re-built 1844. Suffered bomb damage in WWII. Demolished 1959. It was successively Methodist New Connexion, Wesleyan, Wesleyan Reform, United Methodist & Free Church Recorded plaque organisation: Gorleston-on-Sea Heritage Group.
The Methodist Chapel in Gorleston, originally built in 1807 and re-built in 1844, served as a significant religious and community hub for various Methodist denominations until its demolition in 1959, enduring even the bomb damage it suffered during WWII.
