The long stones in Derryleckagh mark a prehistoric chamber where people placed their dead before written history existed. Later locals called it the giant's grave, perhaps because the stones still look like the buried body of something enormous. The chamber may have held kings, relatives or strangers, but the dead have kept that secret since the stones closed over them.
