Leac na mBuachaillí mBána hides inside an ordinary boundary fence near Mount Eagle, forcing passersby to walk beside dead men without knowing it. Two roofstones still lean against the trap, one propped by a single sidestone while the rest dissolve into the bank. The boys are white in the local name, perhaps pale with marrow or age, but the stones no longer speak enough to confirm whether they were heroes, children or thieves.

Situated near the foot of the NW slope of Mount Eagle, this ruined monument is incorporated in a townland boundary fence which forms the N side of a disused laneway. It is known locally as Leac na mBuachaillí mBána. Two roofstones are partly embedded in the fence with that to the W supported by a single sidestone. Several stones are exposed in the S face of the fence but their relationship to the monument is uncertain. The monument is clearly a megalithic tomb but the remains are insufficient to allow classification. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Portal dolmen; likely dates to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age. Its incorporation into a boundary fence suggests long-standing local awareness and reuse of the monument.
