Megalithic structure in Cill Buaine — Report the wrong picture

No giant or warrior is named, but the grave is easy to picture: two narrow slabs standing like doorposts, a heavy irregular boulder lying across them, and other flat stones scattered nearby. The chamber is small enough to enter only after crawling, yet tall enough to sit inside while rain hammers the roof. Viewed from below, Kilkeaveragh rises behind it and St Finan's Bay spreads out beyond, making the dead person seem still aware of the sea.

This site is known locally as a giant's or warrior's grave. It is located on the lower S slopes of Kilkeaveragh mountain, overlooking St Finan's Bay, and comprises two slabs set on edge, 1.05m apart, capped by a large, irregularly shaped boulder. The boulder measures 1m x .75m x .25m thick, while the supporting slabs each measure .45m x .8m x .1m. A number of recumbent slabs occur close by. The above description is derived from A.
