This blue commemorative plaque records: Medmerry Windmill. This early mid c19th tower mill, of local red brick, once featured an outside gallery unique in Sussex. It produced flour & feeds finally grinding peppercorns before closure in the 1920s Recorded plaque organisation: West Sussex County Council.
Medmerry Windmill, constructed in the early mid-19th century, was a distinctive local landmark featuring a rare outside gallery and served as an essential flour and feed production center until its closure in the 1920s.
