Mary Shelley authored the seminal work of Gothic literature "Frankenstein," while her parents, William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft, were influential philosophers known for their works on political justice and women's rights respectively; Percy Bysshe Shelley was a prominent Romantic poet.
