This blue commemorative plaque records: No. 19 Broad Street From 1748 to 1752 the town house of Marmaduke Gwyn of Breconshire; his daughter Sarah married Charles Wesley in 1749.
Marmaduke Gwyn was a Welsh landowner whose daughter, Sarah, married Charles Wesley, co-founder of Methodism, thus linking the family to the significant religious movement.
