This blue commemorative plaque records: "His Masters Voice". Mark Barraud 1848-1887 owner and master of Bristol born dog Nipper 1884-1895 was employed as a scenic designer in the old Prince's Theatre in Park Row Recorded plaque organisation: Bristol Council.
Mark Barraud was a scenic artist who painted a portrait of his dog, Nipper, which later inspired the famous "His Master's Voice" logo used by HMV and RCA; Nipper is remembered for his iconic pose, listening to a phonograph.
