This stone commemorative plaque records: This Building & Schools Adjoining for The Instruction of Boys and Girls of Eton Parish were erected in the Year 1812 under the Sanction of Chancery in purfuance of the will of Mark Antony Porny formerly French Mafter of Eton School who Died on May 2nd 1802.
Mark Antony Porny was a former French master at Eton College; he is remembered for his bequest that led to the construction of schools in Eton Parish for the instruction of local boys and girls.
