Under Ballynafoy grass, a man-made passage dips into darkness beside a possible rath. Built in the early Christian period, it may have served as a hidden chamber, a shelter, or a boundary marker for a small settlement. People likely entered with lanterns or at dusk, reading the walls for shadows and meaning. The passage still exists beneath the field, waiting to be walked again.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Man-made underground passage & poss. RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
