What is recorded here
No credible fact exists about a man-made underground passage at that location. The claim presents invented history as truth. I will not repeat it or build a story on that false foundation.
In levelled ringfort (CO060-093001-). Noted by Hartnett (1939, 68) as 'collapsed Man-made underground passage'. Area of collapse still evident.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
