Knuttery holds a man-made underground passage inside a ringfort, yet no surface trace remains for anyone to point at. Coleman called it an irregular hollow in 1947, capturing the kind of place that resists easy description. The earth may have swallowed the entrance, or the passage may never have wanted to be seen.
