Thirty feet of darkness stood behind the closed shaft in Tubrid Beg before humans sealed it, large enough to swallow a room or a person without warning. The rath still keeps its circular bank and central mound, but the missing outer ring and hidden depths suggest the ground there is not finished with people.

According to the landowner, rath KE021-122---- was originally bivallate, but the outer ring was completely removed and no visible trace survives. What remains today is a circular area enclosed by a bank and external fosse. A circular mound (KE021-122002-) lies in the centre of the interior; it is 7.2m N-S and 7.8m E-W internally and 1.2m high. 6.8m S of the mound is a depression .6m deep (KE021-122001- & KE021-122003-). According to the landowner, this was originally a shaft about 30 feet deep that had to be closed up. Another shaft lay in the N sector, but this has also been closed up.
