Man-made underground passage in Kilnameela

Discovered 1970, excavated by Twohig (1971, 120-131). Four earth-cut, sub-rectangular chambers with barrel-vaulted ceilings. Average dims. L. 3.8m; Wth 1.25m; H 0.77m. Shaft at SW end chamber 1 closed at surface by slab. Charcoal and bone fragment recovered from construction pit at N end passage chamber 1 to chamber 2. Backfilled, now no visible surface trace.
