The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Situated near the motte (LH004-023001-). Man-made underground passage, roughly Z-shaped in plan, consisting of a gently curving passage running N-SW, with a second passage at the SW end turning S then E to form a third passage. (JRSAI 1906, 74; CLAJ 1966, 111-12)
