Cloghane Upper holds a man-made underground passage marked by a depression exposing a large flat slab on the east side of a ringfort. Probing found a second slab behind the first, while lighter coloured grass still grows above the hidden work. The passage may have served the people who built the ringfort, giving them a concealed route through solid ground.
