Man-made underground passage in Clashmelcon

Sub-circular cahir KE009-026---- with Man-made underground passage is situated on pastureland which is gently sloping N. In the W sector of the interior is a raised area, .8m high. Within this raised area is a depression, 2.2m N-S, 2.6m E-W and .7m deep. Also, 2.6m NW of this feature is a smaller depression, 2m N-S and 1.8m E-W, which is contained within the enclosing bank. 'Cave' is marked on the 1841-42 OS map, so these depressions may represent the collapsed chambers of a Man-made underground passage (KE009-026001-). The above description is derived from C.
