Castleventry’s hidden chamber appeared in 1981 inside a bivallate ringfort now buried beneath a graveyard. People cut a narrow oval room two metres sixty-three long and barely tall enough for a crouching adult, then dropped a shaft from the east end to reach it. The small size excludes casual curiosity and suggests private ritual, storage or escape. A separate tradition places another passage beside the outer bank, widening the mystery rather than solving it.

Discovered 1981, in centre bivallate ringfort (CO134-025001-), now a graveyard. Single earth-cut, oval chamber (L 2.63m; Wth 1.1m; H c. 1.1m). Construction shaft E end. Tradition of Man-made underground passage (CO134-089---) beside outer bank at E side (Cleary 1981, 40-41).
