Brackloon holds a blocked drystone passage beneath its rath, where two oblique slabs still protrude from the western sod. People may have sealed the entrance to keep out rain, thieves or unwanted witnesses, yet the stones remain angled like a forgotten invitation. The chamber probably waited in darkness for hands confident enough to move heavy rock and risk collapse.

In a rath (MA072-041001). There is a local tradition that the rath contains a Man-made underground passage (MA072-041001-) of drystone construction with lintel roofing. Access to it was blocked up in the past. Two large slabs, protruding obliquely from the sod, to W of centre, may indicate its location. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 31 March 2021
