Man-made underground passage in Belra

In level pasture, at the SW end of a barely discernible rise (diam. c. 10m). A small area of surface subsidence reveals part of a lintel. A partially blocked opening beneath the lintel leads into the SW side of a small oval drystone-built chamber (c. 2m N-S; c. 1m E-W). The walls are slightly corbelled and are roofed with lintels. A small opening at the base of the chamber wall at NE may be a creepway. The interior of the chamber is partially infilled with rubbish. The floor of the chamber appears to slope down from S to N. A rath (SL032-011----) lies c. 220m to WNW.
