Man-made underground passage in Ballynahown

In the SE quadrant of a cashel (CL005-062----) and overgrown with blackthorn. Cunningham (1980, 21) refers to a Man-made underground passage ‘in the valley at the south face of the cliff’ although wrongly attributes it to the cashel named ‘Cahernagrian’ (CL004-060----) located c. 52m to the NNW. A stony hollow (L 4m E-W; max. Wth 2m; D 1.4m) is likely associated with the Man-made underground passage and further to the N (L 4m) a cavity (L 0.5m) roofed with lintels opens to the NNW (H 0.8m; Wth 0.6m) but is inaccessible.
