What is recorded here

No visible trace remains of the earth-cut passage in Ballyenahan South, yet local memory holds it clear enough to warn away curious shovels. Men uncovered the tunnel while levelling the old ringfort around 1964, then filled it back as if the ground had swallowed a mistake. The clay remembers the shape of what it hid, waiting for another careless jar of water or a child’s stick to give it back.

In levelled ringfort (CO018-08701-). According to local information, earth-cut Man-made underground passage uncovered during levelling of ringfort c. 1964 and subsequently infilled.
