Man-made underground passage in Baile An Bhaoithín

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

No, because it is not known whether that is the only chamber, the largest chamber or the chamber that belongs to the woman.
The precise location of a Man-made underground passage has not been identified. Cuppage (1986, 276-7, no. 828) recorded the following details, under the entry for Tobermaolgga (KE042-100001-); 'Tobermalogga/Tobar na Molaige: This site lies in the N corner of a field at the foot of the E slopes of Croaghmarhin, about 400m E of An Raingiléis (827). The focal point of the site was probably the holy well and cross-slab, and the mounds and slabs laid on edge in the irregularly-shaped area between these and the field walls are probably the remains of penitential stations. An underground passage was discovered in an adjacent field c. 1930 (O'Sullivan 1931, 524)'.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
