Ardmeelode holds a man-made underground passage in the northern half of a rath, marked by a shallow linear depression five metres long. The 1940s called it well-built, suggesting deliberate construction rather than accidental collapse. It may have served as a hidden route, a drainage channel or a ceremonial path beneath the earth. Whatever its purpose, the passage still lies waiting under the soil, preserving the shape of human intention in County Kerry.

In the N half of a rath (KE047-063----). This Man-made underground passage is indicated by a linear depression (L 5m; Wth 1.2m; D 0.55m) extending SW-NE. It was described in the 1940s as 'well-built' (Minutes of the Co. Kerry Field Club, 1941, vol. 1, 231-2).
