Man-made underground passage in An Cheathrú Thoir — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

No visible chamber or clear function survives, but the passage still exists: a narrow crevice beneath a roof slab on the Reenbeg Peninsula, pointing east toward Dingle Harbour. People may have crawled through it to hide, listen, or keep something from the rain; the stones do not say which. What is certain is that they built it small enough to exclude most of the world, then left it buried beneath rough ground and memory.

Situated on a N facing slope of Reenbeg Peninsula, overlooking Dingle Harbour, this Man-made underground passage is no longer accessible. Its precise location is at the WNW extremity of a triangular tract of rough ground delimited to S by a V-shaped kink in an E-W field wall and to N by a natural rocky ledge. Portion of the monument is visible through a low gap beneath the westernmost surviving roof slab. A passage, 1.75m long, c. 0.4m wide and .5m high, extends E from the opening. It is roofed by a series of flat lintels which rest directly on the upright slabs which form the side walls. A low creepway, the same width as the passage, extends E from the base of the drystone-built E end wall but its length could not be determined. The above description is derived from J.
