What is recorded here
Under Toberbilly in County Antrim, a built underground passage waited for footsteps before destruction removed it from sight. Whether it served as a hiding place, a water channel or a forgotten road, people shaped solid earth into darkness and used the result. The passage no longer exists, but its absence still points to human ambition: to enter the earth, bend it to purpose and leave behind a hole that could be walked through.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Man-made underground passage (destroyed). Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
