Mallscastle Railway Bridge spans Dumfries and Galloway, its 19th-century rails carrying iron horses across land now silent. The structure still stands where measurement places it, a steel rib bridging two living banks. Men built it to hurry goods and forget the distance between villages. It may have shaken dust into lungs or married fields that never spoke before.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Mallscastle, Railway Bridge as Railway Bridge (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
