Maidengill, 'thorril Castle' is a medieval bastle in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It still stands as a ruined castle, marked on the official map at a point accurate to the nearest ten metres. The name suggests a thistle or local identity, but the stones themselves give no explanation. They only remain beside the gill, waiting for someone to walk past and imagine the hands that built them.
