What is recorded here

Maesmor Hall Castle Mound rises above Maerdy as a post-medieval prospect mound, shaped less for defence than for command of the view. It may have served a hall, a estate, or a private ambition to make the land visible from a distance. The exact purpose has faded, but the mound remains a deliberate act of elevation, forcing the eye upward and outward across Conwy.
