This white commemorative plaque records: The Lunar Room The dining table, around which the original Lunar Society met, was acquired by Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery in 1987. Other furniture and fittings in this room were bought with assistance from funds raised by the Lunar Society during 1994 - 95 Recorded plaque organisation: Lunar Society, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.
The Lunar Society was a prominent informal discussion group of influential figures in the Midlands during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, known for their contributions to science, industry, and philosophy, including members such as Erasmus Darwin and Josiah Wedgwood.
