Two triangular lodges dated 1785 still flank the main gateway, their rounded turrets and embattled parapets rising above carstone walls that stretch toward distant round towers. The gates once judged who entered the private world of Lulworth Park, but age has stripped them of that ceremony. They stand derelict now, exposed to rain and memory, preserving the shape of a boundary rather than the life that crossed it.

The National Heritage List for England records Lulworth Castle North Lodges and park walls as a scheduled monument. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Lulworth Castle was built in the 17th century by the Bankes family, a prominent local landowning family. It is remembered for its historical association with the Bankes and as an example of early English Renaissance architecture.
