Ludgershall Castle began as a royal hunting lodge and became a lavish manor where Henry III visited twenty-one times, filling its halls with marble-painted walls and chapels dedicated to St. Nicholas and St. Catherine. The castle served kings and queens until it fell into disuse, but its stone rooms still echo with feasts, prayers, and the footsteps of royal guests who never imagined they were building a legend.
