Louise Richardson

Tramore in County Waterford gave birth to Louise Richardson on 8 June 1958, the sixth of seven children in a home where curiosity ran as loud as the sea. She later became the first female vice-chancellor of Oxford and helped steer the university through the making of a COVID-19 vaccine, carrying that small coastal life into the largest rooms of power.
